Three More Days

I started out today around 12:30 or so heading down to visit with Wanda. I told her last night I would probably see her today. BUT - I saw Geraldine and the baby leave their driveway so I turned left instead of right to see what they were up to. Turns out they were going as far as Crystal's so the babies could play in the kiddie~pool. So, I sat on the boat trailer and chatted with Geraldine and Crystal and watched the babies play.

Geraldine and I planned that I would bring my chicken to her house for supper because the BBQ scares me, and I was heading home. I told her that if she decided to go out this afternoon to let me know and I would go with her. So she decided, "let's go now" - so off we went. THROUGH the construction (AUGH) to the new (crappy) Walmart. She got Nadine's prom pictures developed.

As we waited for the photos, we went and had a late lunch at McD's, then shopped around. She needed "unmentionables", and I am in desperate need of a new bathing suit! I did not really find what I was looking for, and she bought pop and socks...

After we got the photos we went to Superstore for her to get a few things she needed there. I kept the baby while she ran in to get herself some wine. The baby and I had lots of fun looking at the Lobsters. The fish lady (I bet she loves being called that!), even took one out of the tank and sat it on the counter for us so he could see it. He was mesmerized!

By the time we got home, we had decided that we were not going to BBQ, we would make chicken casserole and hash bash (Yummy Kelly!). I also made a salad. And we had supper there.

Just as we were about to eat Cooper called, and I started to get a little antsy because if Cooper was calling that meant Al would be calling soon, so I went home not long after dessert (strawberries and whipped cream - yum!), while Andrew watched the baby for Geraldine to go for a run.

I no sooner got home and was making plans with Ibitz for tomorrow when Al called. I am glad I came home when I did! He said the weather up there is almost unbearable. Humidex in the 40's! I figured it must be hot up there if WE hit 28c in the Passage!

Tonight I cut out my dress. It is ready to sew. I would have done it tonight but I have no desire to get out the iron and ironing board tonight! I will do it tomorrow night.

Only 3 days now and Al will be home. I CANNOT WAIT! I think I am going bonkers!

John asked if we wanted to go over to Halifax Sunday night for the fireworks - on the boat! YA-HUH! That would be so WICKED! I told Al when he called and he is all for it too. I can't wait.

Now it is almost bedtime. I think I will have a shower I am all sticky and hot and Crystal sprayed me with tanning oil and I would like to wash it off.

I am going on Friday for a new hair cut. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know (JO!)

I never did get to Wanda's...

YAY SUN!!!

Today was a BEAUTIFUL day! The sun was shining, it was WARM! I had Brenda and Camryn over for the afternoon. We went to Sea Gulps for smoothies. I went and visited with Wanda and Sonya while Victoria played with the kids. I GOT SOME COLOR! YAY SUN!

Now it is time, almost, for bed. I am kinda tired. I think I will take my book and go to bed and wait for my Sweetie to call and say good night.

I hope tomorrow is nice too! I need to get a tan before Friday! I can't wait til Friday.

I am missing...people... I hope things blow over soon. However, I am doubtful if...people...are "pining" for {us}... Why do people have to be so mean and hateful?

At any rate - today was a GOOD day. Just because I saw some photos that made me think and remember and grieve... does not mean I am going to "pitch a tent there". I am done "camping" in that "park"...

Let's all hope for another day like today - tomorrow!

Night everyone...

BLONDE~FINALLY!!!

Well, I am finally blonde! It only took 3 1/2 hours in one trip to the salon (which resulted in Pink for a week), then another 2 1/2 hours there today - but I finally made it! YAY!

I got to go to Walmart over in Halifax tonight with my daughter and her friend and her friend's mom - my friend Wanda (and the little girl who lives next to them, who was crying buckets because the 2 girls were going off and leaving her behind...)

I went in search of patterns and fabric for sundresses. I got 2 patterns, but no fabric. I will have to check my stash and see what I have.

I got to talk to Al on MSN tonight, as he is at Cooper's sister's place with Cooper for the weekend. We had fun chatting with each other. I miss him a lot. I can't wait to see him. One more week! I can't wait!

My boys are babysitting tonight, going to share the profits. I hope they make out OK.

I think the neighbours are having a party, because all I hear the THUMP THUMP THUMP of the bass. I REALLY hope I can't hear it upstairs when I go to bed!

And I AM going to bed very shortly! It is not even Friday anymore! So I guess that means Al will be home in LESS THAN a week! YAY!

I am not very good at taking pictures of myself, but here is my blonde hair. I like how green it makes my eyes!

Have a great weekend everyone!

I Think I Will Post Before I Get All Depressed And Don't Want To Again...

Yesterday morning/early afternoon was fun. I went and got Kelly and the boys (picked up Andrew, too, because his exam was over), and we went shopping. We went to Walmart, Zellers, and Old Navy ~Old Navy jeans for $9.97! Wicked!

Then last night I got really sad and lonely. I don't know HOW I am going to make it when Al goes away for 6-8 months. He's only been gone 10 days! I went to bed EARLY!

This morning was our last Bible Study, and we went to In Soon's to learn to make sushi. We always do something fun on the last day. AND IT WAS FUN! Kelly is going to see if In Soon will take us to the Korean market next week so we can get the ingredients for sushi so we can have our Sushi Party.

Right now I am putting the pictures on Facebook. I will also put a few on here. I just wanted to post while I was still in a happy place.

I hope everyone's day is SPLENDIFEROUS! It is SUNNY out, after all!

Our Bible Study group: Janet, Juliet, Noreen, Penney, In Soon, Me, Kelly with Isaac.

Our SUSHI!

Kelly had the MOST fun! Look at her laughing!

I Really Should Post~

But I don't feel like it.

Recital tonight was pretty good. Messed up "right nice"... Got to see Pastor Peter and Ellen, which was nice, since they are leaving for Indiana on the weekend. And Ice Cream cake is always good!

Now I am just tired and missing Al...

Satruday

Today consisted of going to Family Days with Kelly and AJ and the kids; getting wet and cold in the rainy mist; coming home and falling asleep in the bath tub; getting ready to go to Heather's going away party; GOING to Heather's going away party - which consisted of: Eating at Bubble's Mansion, then going to Michael's for Karaoke. It was a lot of fun.

Now I am home and tired and tomorrow is another long day. I will post pics of Family Days soon. It just takes too long to fight with now.

WHY AREN'T JUNE BUGS EXTINCT?????????????

A Musical Day

Today was the Talent Show at Queenie's school. It wasn't bad. A lot of the kids are pretty talented.

After supper was Lighthouse. We did Karaoke. Man that was fun. I took my guitar and played Strawberry Wine and Sonny's Dream. But mostly we all just sang the Karaoke songs together. It was a blast.

I got my book in the mail today from the publisher. The SARK book that I had something published in. That was VERY exciting!

You'd think I would have more to say about all that than that, but I don't... I just want Al to call.

How was your Thursday?

The Good Outweighs The Bad...

Isn't that how you always want it to be? The good outweighing the bad?

Today was Wednesday - and you know what that means... If you don't, then you need to pay closer attention...

I lead Bible Study this morning - on Prayer and Penance. Very heavy topics. We did not necessarily get to conclusions on all parts, but we DEFINITELY got food for thought...

After Bible Study it was Piano and Guitar lessons. That was just FUN. No real lesson, just Juliet and me practicing our duets for the recital and the luncheon. She decided that I do not require any more lessons, but she will be there if I run into anything I don't remember. It is just a matter of practice now. So that was pretty cool.

After that I got to go visit Brenda and her new baby. Brenda is still not 100%, unfortunately. The baby is a DARLING! And I got to hold her and cuddle her and change her and feed her... That was so nice...

Then I came home to TEENAGERS! Why is it that boys have to be so territorial? And what is it about forts? AND why is it that when they get to be a certain age they do not think they require permission to go places any longer...?

So, then it was time to take them to Youth. It was their very last Youth Group with Pastor AJ. I know Andrew is going to miss him A LOT. I don't think Andrew left his side the whole time I was there, and so I suspect that he was glued to him all night. This is very hard on him. It would be much harder if he were not going to see AJ anymore...but AJ and Kelly and the kidlettes are coming with us on Saturday to Family Days. And so I know we will see them. Andrew says he is going to go to AJ's house on Wednesdays at lunch time for his weekly "hug therapy"... Funny kid!

While the boys were at youth Queenie and I went to Zellers. I got Burgundy hair color (it was the closest I could find to PINK - so we shall see how it turns out!)

We are home now, obviously. I talked to Al on the phone. Sixteen more days! Then he has a month's vacation! And I can't wait!!!

I am now chatting with the Princessa on MSN, then I will take my cold behind and go to bed. So much for it hitting 19 degrees today like they said! I sure hope it is warm and nice for Family Days! Last year was cold and miserable!

Think happy, sunshine~y, warm thoughts for the weekend... Everyone together now...

On A Happier Note...

I got to go out for Tea with Kelly and Roni tonight! YAY! I finally got to see Roni - she only moved here 2 months ago... We had a nice long chat at Timmies (Sea Gulps was closed -boo!) Girl Time is awesome!

I watched Ella Enchanted, more or less, with Andrew today. He didn't watch it all, but most of it. Then Scooby brought home Night At The Museum. I had never seen it before. It was really good. Almost peed my pants laughing! (Good thing the doctor fixed that...!)

I was beginning to think that Kelly was not able to go out tonight, but after the movie ended she drove up. I began to think that I misunderstood and was supposed to MEET her at Timmies, but she was just late, so that was good. We still had our outing.

Now I need to go and finish my lesson for Bible Study tomorrow morning, and I really should gather all my music stuff tonight so it is ready for morning.

Today was a good day. Tomorrow will be too. I get to go see Brenda and her new baby Abigail tomorrow afternoon. YAY!

"A Little Rain Never Hurt Anyone...but A LOT Can Kill You!"

It was a rather wet and dreary day today - who am I kidding? It was TORRENTIAL! Holy cow, I didn't know it could rain so hard!

I took Andrew to the library so he could work on his project, but the library was closed... We went to Kelly's for tea instead...

Then we went to the SMFRC to see what information he could get there for his project, but, of course, with the merger, everything is in Halifax... SO, we went to Halifax. Turned out pretty well, though, because he got to speak to a Padre who just returned from Afghanistan and also to the Deployment Coordinator, and got some first hand information. Better than what the newspapers WANT you to know... It was good - for both of us... HOWEVER, the Deployment Coordinator was not aware that we were not telling the kids that Al was going to the Gulf in September, so now he knows. He has been sworn to secrecy! He said he wasn't telling Victoria anyway because he did not want to hear her scream!

After we got home, I made supper and Deborah and the girls came over for supper. That was nice. Don't get to see her much. Not near as much as I would like.

Then, LATER this evening, Al called. YAY! He said that Coop's sister came and got them and took them for a drive into Barie (Berri, Bary, Barrie????) for coffee. That was why he was kinda late calling. I am glad that he got off the base. I guess Borden is a HORRIBLE base! BORING. Nothing around it at all. {I really wouldn't know, never been there...}

Now it is getting late and I am tired, so I am going to go to bed now. Night all...

He Is Gone

I took Al to the airport this morning. He has called twice and is safely in Borden - the middle of nowhere...

One day down, 18 more to go...

Next weekend is Family Days. That'll be fun. Kelly is going to come with us on Saturday. Then on Sunday we are supposed to go to Not-Digby to my brother's Induction Service. Then the next weekend I would LIKE to go away, but I have not heard from the other party as of yet so I cannot say... But hopefully...

Lighthouse is this week. I really want to try to get that. I either have to keep myself busy or I will end up holed up inside the house sleeping and crying...

And speaking of sleeping... I think I will take my headache to bed soon. Night all...

Al Leaves Tomorrow

We are getting his things together. We have to leave here for the airport at 7am, then from there the kids and I will go right to church. By the time we get home, I suspect I will need a nap.

He is going to Ontario for a 3 week course. The rest of June. What fun...

Wedding Dresses - EVERYWHERE!

I had a fun morning with Sandy's cousin Anne (from BC). After leaving Sandy at the hospital Anne I went out in search of 2 things. A Starbucks (which we found), and a wedding dress ( of which we found many!).

We spend a couple hours with her trying on all manner of BEAUTIFUL! wedding dresses and me taking pictures of her IN the wedding dresses so that should refer back then make her decision. She has it narrowed down to two, but leaning toward "Olga". Here it is...

And, of course, she is a beauty so the dress (all of the dresses!) look gorgeous on her!

After Sandy finished at the hospital we went to Café Michelle for French Onion Soup.

Then I came home and had to lie down because I had a headache.

Hope everyone had a fantabulous day!

Another "Wet" Day

Went to Bible Study this morning. It was nice, though, having everyone pray over me for the situation with a broken relationship in my life which is weighing VERY heavily on my heart. Of course, though, the "dam" broke, and the tears started again. I thought I was past that stage...

After Bible Study I went to see Peggy at the MFRC, and we talked about it some. (She is the social worker here). She told me that I need to "take back my power". I am allowing the other person's words, ideas, opinions, etc. rob me of my power. We talked about how I might go about that. We also, as usual, came around full circle to the loss of my mother and how I (we all do, as women), need to have someone in my life that fills that role. And with this broken relationship, it is compounding the grief I feel from having lost my mother - and then losing this person, who I love so very much, from my life. SO...I cried some more. I cried so much today my eyes hurt. She did give me a couple books to read. Hopefully they will help me to work through some of this.

Tonight was Victoria's band concert. They did a really good job. I enjoyed it a lot. Next year I hope to volunteer in band class. I think it would be fun. I volunteered for the choir when we were in NB, and played piano for the teacher so she could direct.

Well, the stupid hockey game is on. The "boys" are yelling and I can't think, so this is it for tonight... I don't really have anything left anyway...

Rainy Days & Mondays Always Get Me Down...

Remember that old Carpenter's song? Oh well, it is Tuesday anyway...

Had a doctors appointment today. He is sending me for new back/hip X-rays because it has been years since it's all been checked, and the pain is getting worse.

Picked up Al at work to take him to get new work boots, but the Tool Box was shut down early due to a death in the family, I guess. So he has to go back another day. Pain in the rear...

Went to Superstore to get prescriptions filled. ALWAYS prescriptions to be filled!

Then home to BBQ cheddar smokies.

That was, pretty much, my day.

QUEENIE, on the other hand, had a rather exciting afternoon! She met Sydney Crosby at the tennis court by the gym. Got his autograph. She said he was really good about talking to everyone and giving out autographs, when all he really wanted to do was have a game of tennis with his buddy.

I wish I had more to say, but I don't. Nothing very exciting has been going on in this neck of the woods lately.

Tomorrow is Donna Day - let's hope for something more interesting... Shall we?

NOTE: New post on "A Light In The Harbour", too.

I Did Not Post Yesterday...

All I remember is that I went to church and went to bed early... Oh wait now... I did hang out the laundry and bring it in. I say out on the back patio and had tea with Al (Oh, Elizabeth, it was Vanilla Almond). I broke all the dead twigs off my lilac tree. I walked around the yard and checked on my plants. Then Al and I went for Ice Cream while Queenie was at Cheerleading. We had Pork Loin for supper... Then I had a bath and went to bed early...

Today...? Andrew went to work with Al for school, but had to be picked up for noon, so I went to get him. From there I went to visit Geraldine. I hadn't seen her since she got back from Newfoundland yesterday (she was there for her mother's Wake). She and I went to Superstore to get a few things, and we all ended up staying at the Coopers for supper (tacos).

Now I am home. The boys are going to watch hockey and I am NOT. So I will go for a bath and go to bed...

Better Days...

Is It Facebook?

Maybe it is Facebook that is keeping people from updating their blogs? Well, I intend to get back into the habit of writing SOMETHING every night!

Today AL decided we were going to take the kids and go to Peggy's Cove. So...we did.

It was actually quite warm there today, even through the fog. The kids loved it! They did not want to leave, AND wanted to make sure we could go back next year. They were really good too! They (tried) to remember A) not to run, and B) stay off the wet/black rocks. They had fun crawling around in the crevices between the rocks.

Of course, we took lots of pictures... And now that I have High Speed, I can post them, so here you go... Peggy's Cove.

It was really pretty when the fog rolled in.

And no, there are no pictures of me. That is on purpose. I was feeling rather - "un~photogenic" today...

OK, there was ONE!

I hope you liked the pictures!

After we poked around the gift shop for a bit, we drove the other way back home (so we made a circle), and stopped for some "really greasy fish~n~chips" and ice cream. YUM! All in all, we had a great day!

All Right - Here Goes

Evidently people are beginning to get upset because I have not posted. So, here goes...

Been sick with sinus infection since I got back from Newfoundland, and now I have Al's stupid cold. Going out on the boat last Saturday was FUN! But I got wet and got sicker. Blech! Now it is allergy season, and I REALLY think there should a legislated Mow-The-Lawn-Day every week, so that I know when it is and can go to the mall or something, but instead every day SOMEONE is mowing their lawn and making me feel rotten~er. I am a cranky old puss these days, and seeing as I really did not have anything positive to write, I just didn't. BUT...People were complaining, so here it is... All the negativity out there in the universe. 'Course, it IS better OUT THERE than IN ME...

I did finally get to go visit with Kelly. Seemed every time we tried to get together something stopped us. So, I would say, that was the highlight of my week. That was Tuesday. What is today? Friday... I thought today was going to be good. Al has the day off, so I thought we would spend the day together. BUT...he is helping Cooper paint the baby's room before Mama and Baby get back from Newfoundland. SO...I won't see him til bedtime, unless I go there, but it is REALLY cold out for standing in the garage...

Monday would have been my Dad's 85th birthday. I stayed on the sofa and watched movies all day because I felt crappy from the cold.

Tuesday went to Kelly's.

Wednesday, missed Bible Study because Queenie had a play at school. Then went to my piano/guitar lesson.

Thursday - that was yesterday. Payday - went shopping, paid bills, got High Speed (that was kinda exciting).

And now it is Friday... Went with Al EARLY this morning to Stad for his eye appointment. Came home. Went to Sea Gulps for an Almond Twist and a London Fog. Saw Scott - he is finally getting his own shop in July. Came back and now Al is at Cooper's. I was there for a while, but I got cold, and cranky so I came home. They are painting anyway.

That's about it. I don't even care if my thoughts are all over the place and random. And Sandy, I don't even care if I switched tenses and broke a bazillion other grammar rules. This is just it...

How does a hot bath and jammies sound, then tea for my throat and my Ferry Quilt and a movie? Sounds awesome, but somehow I figure I will end up back across the road, because that seems to be where supper is getting cooked tonight...

CIAO...
